All about the GATE 2021 Admit Card !!

The hall ticket will be issued to the eligible students by IIT, Bombay on 8th January 2021 tentatively. It will be released via online mode, hence the students will have to visit the official website of IIT Bombay to download it. The admit card is further considered as the most important document on the exam day. That is because it acts as an entry pass, and the students appearing for the examination without it will thus not be allowed to sit for the GATE 2021. Candidates shall check all the details on the hall ticket carefully, before downloading it. There shouldn’t be any discrepancy in it. However, in case of a discrepancy, you should immediately contact the authorities. The details that will be mentioned on the GATE Admit Card 2021 are exam date, name of the candidate, exam venue, and other such details.

How to Download GATE 2021 Admit Card?

As mentioned above, the admit card of GATE 2021 will be released via online mode only. Hence, the step by step guide to download the hall ticket is provided below. Note that the hard copy of the admit wouldn’t be sent through post or over mail. Therefore, the students need to download it and then take a printout of the admit card. The steps to download the admit card successfully are further as follows:


  • Visit the Official Website of GATE 2021 or IIT Bombay

  • On the homepage, in the login section, enter your enrollment number and password.

  • After logging in successfully, click on the link to download the admit card. The Admit Card will be available in PDF format

  • Further, save the PDF and take a printout of it after checking all the details mentioned on it. 

Thus, following these steps you can easily download the admit card. In addition, it is advised that the students take out at least 2-3 copies of the hall ticket.


What to carry to the Exam Centre along with the Admit Card?

Candidates must carry a valid Photo ID Proof to the exam centre along with the admit card. It will be required for the verification purposes. In addition, ensure that the name on the ID proof and the admit card is the same. Furthermore, the list of Phot ID proof that are acceptable are as follows:


  • Aadhar Card

  • Passport

  • Voter ID

  • PAN Card

  • Driving License

  • College ID


What are the acceptable documents for International students?

  • Passport

  • Employee ID

  • Government Issued ID Proof

What all details will be mentioned on GATE Hall Ticket 2021?

The admit card is considered as an important document due to the details mentioned on it. Those details help the invigilator in verifying that the registered student appeared for the exam. It also help the candidate in finding out details related to the examination. Further, the details that you will be able to locate on the Admit Card of GATE are as follows:


  • Name of the Candidate

  • Registration Number

  • Exam Centre Address

  • Exam Centre Code

  • Date and Time of the Exam

  • Signature of the Chairman

How to retrieve enrollment ID or Password if forgotten?

A lot of students end up forgetting their enrollment ID or Password. Hence, the steps to retrieve them is provided below to ensure that the students do not face any difficulty. The steps to retrieve the ID and Password are as follows:


  • Click on the link to “Forgot Enrollment ID” OR “Request for OTP”.

  • In case of the enrollment ID, the students will be asked to enter the registered mobile number. Moreover, in case of retrieving the password, an OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number.

  • The Enrollment ID will further be sent to the registered number. After entering the OTP, you will be able to change the password.

GATE 2021 Exam Day Guidelines

The Exam Day Guidelines will be mentioned in the admit card. In addition, some of the guidelines that will be there are as follows:


  • Candidates should reach the GATE Exam Centre at least 40-50 minutes before the examination to avoid inconvenience. The students appearing for the exam after the given time wouldn’t be allowed to enter the exam centre.

  • It is important to carry a hardcopy of the hall ticket to the exam center.

  • Do carry a valid photo IF Proof along with the admit card as well. It should be a government issued ID.

  • Electronic Devices shouldn’t be carried along such as mobile phones, watches or other such devices.

  • Candidates should not carry any piece of paper along with them. The scribble pads will be provided during the exam for rough work.
